• The purpose of our center is to perform innovative collaborative research focusing on topics related to substance abuse, HIV/AIDS-related risk behaviors, and other related topics using our state-of-the-art methodological and statistical approaches.

• We collaborate with drug abuse and HIV/AIDS researchers across the country and around the world in addition to world renowned researchers at UCLA.

• We have augmented our original focus on adolescent substance use and abuse with an extensive research program that concentrates on high risk and vulnerable populations.

• We synthesize substantive, theoretical, and applied aspects of drug abuse and HIV/AIDS causes and consequences. All work is grounded in the sound methodological and statistical advances developed in the Center.
